Privacy policy

Lighting Directory is a browsable directory — you don't need an account, and we collect as little as the site needs to work. This page describes everything we do collect and why.

What we collect

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how visitors arrive. This uses cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and device type. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
• Forms you submit. If you submit a store, send a message through the contact page, or join the newsletter, we store what you typed — including your email address if you provided one — so we can act on it and reply. We do not sell or share this information.
• Shortlist storage. The store shortlist and comparison feature saves your selections in your own browser (localStorage). That data never leaves your device and we cannot see it.

What we don't do

• No accounts, no login, no profiles.
• No selling or renting of personal information.
• No advertising trackers or third-party ad networks.

Outbound links

Store profiles link to retailers' own websites. Once you leave Lighting Directory, the retailer's privacy policy applies, not ours. Some outbound links may be affiliate links, as described in our disclosure.

Newsletter and email

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we use your email address only to send the newsletter. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to remove your address at any time via the contact page.

Your choices

You can browse the entire site without submitting anything. You can block cookies in your browser, which stops analytics collection. You can request a copy or deletion of anything you've submitted to us — email us through the contact page and we'll handle it promptly.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page.
